Mom and Son Outting

Whenever given the chance, Carson goes in search of rocks and fossils. So we went exploring today, just me , Carson and Gunny.

 Gunny was looking under rocks because he watched Carson....silly dog.

 Carson tuning over rocks

 Gunny blending in LOL!

 Its hard to see, but this is root is crystallized . Carson thinks it may be a root to a palm tree.
 Here is some fossilized bark.

 Gunny got hot so he sat an watched for a bit.

A cool copper lite find....in English, copper lite is fossilized poop :0}

As you see Carson is having a terrible time ....
 Fossil roots or stems
Gunny poses for me in front of a choke cherry bush and a service berry bush on full bloom...no wonder my hay fever is fired up :-)

It was a fun afternoon........

The boy with wings on his feet.....

Carson ran well at the Utah High School State Track Meet...Their Medley relay had everything go wrong so didn't make the finals (they were the pic for 1st at State). BUT! the 4 X 100 meter relay (that was not suppose to make finals) came in 7th over all for 2013. After the prelim race one of Carson track mates asked the Coach so what are we going to do about the 4 X 100 making finals? The coach laughed and said he wasn't quite sure, they weren't suppose to make it to the finals....then another of Carson's team mates spoke up they only made it because Hughes ran start......The coach laughed and agreed.
The pic is of Carson's start in the 4 X 100 relay finals, his split was 11.57.
Just a little proud of my son :)

 Carson will be here by the 7th of June....Our last full summer....my boy is growing up........

Corn, Corn and More Corn!! ER vist and Big Wonderful WY Spring Flowers

 About a week ago UP had an issue with a wheel breaking down and had a 34 car derailment just north of Fossil Butte. Lucky it was only corn so no environmental issues per say, Union Pacific has been really great at the clean up, and might I add, it was quite a site and not something you see every day, and NO injury's, just a little more than a mile of track to be replaced, they had the tracks cleared and trains running within 36 hours...WOW!!
 Derailed cars corn dumped on BLM land off the Right of way
 replacing the tracks

 The wheels are huge!!
 Gunny could hear a ground squirrel but couldn't get to it.....He wouldn't have known what to do with it if he would have caught it.
 Last Saturday Dan kept getting a bloody nose, 11 bleeds in less than 24 hours, Dr Krell cauterized it, My poor Sweety ;)
 Thursday Kaisa and I went out to do surface compliance inspections, she had a com site above Evanston. Such a beautiful view
The bluebells are really blooming great this year.....This is one thing I will miss when we head to NV, my field work .

Till next time!!! :-}
